Hi Geoffrey,

Mpi4py is a relatively thin wrapper around the MPI library and it should not be a problem to have YT compile and install its own version. In most cases ensuring that mpicc is in your path and points to the correct MPI library you'd like to use is sufficient.

It's also possible to use the system Python and Mpi4py but you will need to make sure all the correct dependencies and versions are installed and in your python path.

Hi all,

Is there a easy way to use the install script but use system python and system mpi4py from a supercomputer?

Or what's the best way to go about installing yt manually with system python?
