[Yt-dev] Web Notebook

Hi everyone,

Dorian Raymer (now on this list! :) sent me a wave the other day and
we've been chatting about CodeNode as a frontend to computation in a
web browser. As you may recall, we had been looking (via the RAFT
project -- which is still at raft.enzotools.org) at using the SAGE
notebook. But it's looking like the computation engines there are
pretty suited to server farms rather than batch queues and shared
machines, whereas the CodeNode notebook is more flexible and might
suit itself to what we're looking for a lot better. I think we're
pretty close to being able to -- in one fell swoop! -- simplify
packaging AND make available notebook-style analysis. There's a bunch
of other neat stuff they have planned, too, which we might be able to
use to great advantage.

I think we'll keep discussing it over there on the wave, so just
'ping' me over there if you want to be added to the Wave. If any of
you don't have a Wave account and want one, I have a bunch of invites
left, so just let me know (off-list.)

-Matt
