[yt-users] a way annotate a piece of a grid?

Hi Everybody,

I am looking for something similar to the annotate_grids function, but 
that can annotate arbitrary pieces of a single grid (or more precisely, 
of a hexahedral mesh). Is there a reasonable way to do this?
