[yt-users] Masking the domain?

Hi Jill,

The boolean masks don’t work in yt 3.0, and my addition currently only allows you to compute the union of two selectors. I do plan to generalize what I did to allow negation and intersection, but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get to it.

Hi Nathan,

Yup! The textfile has positions and radii of several spheres.

Even a hack is most welcome at this point :)

Doug Rudd (cc'd) has been thinking about composing selectors. I'm not sure if it's possible to combine selectors using a boolean addition like you need yet. He might have a better idea of what's necessary to get that working.

Hi all,

I'm trying to mask out several spheres in my domain before making a phase plot. Is there a way to do this? I've tried making a derived field, using the boolean mask things, and checked out the "masking domain" section of the cookbook with little success.

The regions I want to mask out come from a text file of x/y/z coordinates and radii.

Thanks for any insights!
