For the range, can you try specifying the keyword "origin" when
creating the SlicePlot?  Otherwise it will default to centering.  For
the transformation, this is possible, and yt can also slice along the
axis such that it produces circular images.  The support for that is
somewhat early, but it should work if you utilize the to_frb function
rather than a SlicePlot.

I'm traveling right now and will have limited access to email, but I
have coincidentally allotted a good amount of time next week to this
exact type of plotting and analysis.
