It looks like it has already been filed by Nathan actually

Plotting a projection of GridLevel did work for my Enzo dataset
(although it's not as clear as annotate_grids was), but not RAMSES - I
get an extremely long error message and then "RuntimeError: maximum
recursion depth exceeded".
