[yt-users] yt install error

I've repackaged the most recent stable (2.5) and development versions
(2.6). The both work for me on 12.04 lts (precise pangolin). As an added
bonus, I was able to package forthon as well, and so now the fKDpy stuff
shoud work too, although I have to admit that I haven't tried it out myself.

The tests directory is included in the package, but it's installed into a
rather strange location: /usr/share/pyshared/yt/utilities/spatial/tests/
Not sure why it's installed there, or how to make it be installed into a
more sensible location. But at any rate it's always going to be installed
into something under /usr, where a normal user doesn't have write
permission, and so you'll end up having to copy the directory into your
user space regardless.

I encourage any ubuntu users to try it out and let me know if there are
problems.

Lastly, I was also able to package up the most recent yt-3.0 branch. I
haven't uploaded it to my PPA, though, since most people using yt-3.0 at
this point are probably also developing it and won't be using packages.
However if there's a desire to have a yt3-devel package available, I'd be
happy to upload it. Just let me know.

Cheers,

Mike
