I have done something like this in the past:

fname = 'len([1])'
master_clump = amods.level_sets.Clump(sp, None, field, function=fname)

fname just needs to be something that evaluates to 1 or True. There
are probably more elegant functions, but this is short and sweet. Let
me know if that doesn't make sense.
