Off hand I can't see anything that is going wrong. I'm curious why
you're not seeing much improvement. Here is a diff you can apply that
should print out the number of pair calculations that do and don't
take advantage of the treecode algorithm. Can you apply it and see
what you can learn about why you might be seeing such slow
performance?
