Hi Geoffrey,

You should be able to do:

pip install readline

to get it installed on OSX.  The reason, to my recollection (which may
be incorrect) that this is tricky is that OSX is a bit more difficult
to link against readline libraries.  This is by-design by the readline
implementors and maintainers, however, because readline has been
licensed under the GPL.  I'm not going to license advocate except to
note that readline comes by default with most Linux distributions.
