As of today, that is the plan. Even if full python3 support doesn't make it
in, we will release it with "beta-level" support.

Cool! Would you be willing to maintain the package as well?

Feel free to add a mention about this to the installation docs once you've
done so. Once I get to Illinois I'm planning to try once and for all to get
a debian package working, which means we'll get ubuntu packages for free :)
