[yt-dev] YTEP-0028: proposal for adding the capability to switch between different unit systems

One thing that got bikeshed a lot in person last week was the
discussion in here about derived fields (starting around line 197 as
of right now), which we eventually settled on the solution proposed in
the YTEP.  So, feedback on that would be welcome.
