[yt-dev] Big pf => ds PR

We can do it, but I'm a little hesitant.  My guess is that it is going to
break something, because it touches basically every part of the code, and
then we might end up spending the entire doc spring trying to patch up the
problems caused by it instead of writing docs.  Still, I guess it has to
happen sometime.
