Hey guys,

So I got a huge response to the survey I sent out this morning.  It
has led me to these two conclusions:

A lot of people use EPD.  This means that the VTK stuff might closer
to general use than expected; additionally, it means that it might be
time to start moving to a TraitsUI based GUI.  This would be easier,
much MUCH more flexible, and way simpler to maintain.

Nobody uses covering grids to do anything other than get objects that
align with the grid boundaries.  This gives me license to rewrite them
to use int math for selection of cells.  This should speed things up
(not just because of the int math, but because of the assumptions
about alignment I refused to make), make things easier, and allow the
kind of spatial organization that is necessary for properly converting
to vertex centered data.
